Questions
What boards and managers ask us
Does our building need a bigger electrical service for chargers?
Sometimes, and often not. A load calculation and the building's peak demand show the spare capacity, and load sharing lets a building run more chargers on what it has. We recommend service work only when the numbers call for it.
Who pulls the permit?
We prepare and file it, and the association signs as the property owner. Washington's Department of Labor & Industries or your city issues it, depending on where the building is, and the work is inspected before it is turned on.
Will the power go off for residents?
Sometimes for a short tie-in at the panel. If it will, we write to the property manager with the date and the length, and residents get a notice before we start.
Can owners install their own chargers?
Many associations allow it under a rule the board writes. We can write the technical part of that rule so every request is handled the same way.
Which chargers and billing software do you use?
We install networked chargers from more than one maker, and we set up the billing service your board picks. The board's choice isn't tied to ours.
Are there utility rebates?
Some utilities run programs for multifamily buildings, and the terms change. We ask your utility for the current ones and list any we find in the proposal, so the board can apply. We don't build a proposal around a rebate that isn't confirmed.
What if only two owners want a charger today?
Pull the conduit and reserve the capacity for more, and install two chargers now. Adding stalls later is then chargers and wire, not another round of trenching.
Are you licensed and insured, and how do I check?
Our license number is in the footer of every page, with a link to the state's lookup. A certificate of insurance goes to your property manager on request.
Do you do emergency work?
No. We schedule planned work in office hours. If you smell burning, or see smoke or sparks at a panel, call 911 and leave the area. If it is safe, turn off the breaker.
Question not here?
Call or write, or send the board's list ahead of the survey.
